This is a double gate-folded brochure designed for one of the famous UNESCO world heritage sites – Hampi, India.
Hampi is a grandiose site of more than 1600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India.
For a destination that is steeped in ancient history, I wanted to adopt a traditional theme for the brochure design. I have mostly used earthy tones to complement the burnt brick and lime mortar structures. This group of monuments, rich in history, features marvelous architectural feats like sculptures, massive ornate structures, and decorated pillars. I created vector line art ornamental motifs (that are used across the brochure) in Adobe Illustrator, which are inspired by the decorations on the pillars.
Even in its ruined state, this city has its unique charm with numerous structures that are spread vastly. And an effort to offer a glimpse of this magnificent piece of history, Visiting Hampi during my college days was a mesmerizing experience for me and I have used photographs (some that are taken by myself) that capture the diverse structures that make up this heritage site.
I hope this brochure serves as a window to a once very prosperous and buzzing city that still stands to tell a story of a civilization that was way ahead of its time.
